“Microsoft is supporting the United Kingdom’s expanding AI safety and study initiatives through collaborations with leading universities and the government, in addition to more than doubling its datacenter footprint in the country and training over one million individuals for the AI economy.”
Artificial intelligence (AI) infrastructure, talent and education initiatives, and security and safety measures will all get funding.
Several prestigious UK institutions, such as Cambridge, Oxford, Imperial College, UCL, Bath, and Nottingham, will provide research services to Microsoft.
Additionally, the business is planning to increase the number of jobs available in the UK for those who are interested in artificial intelligence. The software giant’s objective is to “educate one million individuals in the necessary competencies to construct and operate with artificial intelligence.”
The business has also stated its intention to eventually make available all of the AI development and engineering learning courses used by its employees.
As well, Microsoft will create learning tools for UK customers and partners that include all the lessons it has learned in putting responsible AI principles into practice for its own AI engineers and coders.
