Peter McCormack, the club’s founder and a prominent crypto podcaster, disclosed that RBFC has acquired Bitcoin valued at $4.5 million.
RBFC currently possesses 82.7 Bitcoins, which are valued at $5.37 million and were acquired at an average price of $64,925 per Bitcoin.
McCormack’s vision of utilizing digital assets to propel the club’s ambitious ascension through the footballing divisions is consistent with this strategic investment.
In 2021, McCormack acquired Real Bedford, which is located in Bedford, United Kingdom. McCormack is demonstrating a desire to elevate the organization to the football league, a feat that necessitates a significant amount of financial support and innovative strategies.
His expertise in cryptocurrency and his extensive network within the crypto community, which includes backing from Winklevoss Capital, establish a robust foundation for this endeavor.
McCormack stated that 15.8 Bitcoin is designated for football-related spending, while the remaining balance is securely stored in the club’s treasury.
Cameron and Tyler Winklevoss, the twin brothers who founded Winklevoss Capital, invested $4.5 million in RBFC in April.
Following the investment, McCormack and both Winklevoss brothers are co-owners of RBFC. Crypto companies or individuals have invested in or sponsored an increasing number of football clubs over the years.
