Cardano is preparing for the second phase of Chang, a critical upgrade that is intended to execute the concluding features of Cardano’s minimal viable on-chain governance.
Input Output Global (IOG), a Cardano creator, recently revealed the primary advancements and achievements from the Cardano community in a recent tweet. The number of minted native tokens increased by 60,000, and the number of token policies increased by 3,287. The total number of Plutus scripts increased by 3,358 to 91,698.
The total number of transactions has increased by 0.98 million in the past month, reaching a total of 97.92 million.
The Conway ledger era will be effective during the bootstrap period, and the implementation of final enhancements and corrections is one of the development highlights for October. The release of Node v.10.1.1 was also significant.
This is significant because Cardano Node 10.1.1 is the first mainnet release node that is capable of overcoming the Chang #2 inter-era hard fork. According to CIP-1694, the Chang upgrade #2 will implement full on-chain governance, concluding the present bootstrap governance phase that commenced with the Chang upgrade #1 hard fork on September 1.
In addition to two CIPs for built-in arrays and maps, the “Using Plutus TX portion of the user guide” was revised in October. Mithril distribution 2442.0 was published as a scalability milestone, offering dependable support for decentralized signature orchestration in both the signer and aggregator roles.
Intersect, a member-based organization for the Cardano ecosystem, conducted its inaugural full-scale election for the Intersect board and seven committees as Cardano transitions to decentralized governance. Two board members and 29 committee members were selected from 140 applications. In April 2025, there will be an additional round of elections.
In October, Project Catalyst also made significant progress, as Catalyst Fund13 entered the community review phase. Additionally, Catalyst is approaching the completion of 1,000 initiatives.
The Cardano Summit event in Buenos Aires, Argentina, was a significant event for the Cardano community, with the support of IOG’s Education team. The team participated in the Tech Forum, the panel lecture, and the Cardano Asado community events.
