Alibaba Cloud, a division of the Chinese e-commerce powerhouse Alibaba, has extended its cloud infrastructure technologies and developer tools to support the Avalanche blockchain.
According to the official release, the agreement would allow Avalanche users in Asia to deploy validator nodes, construct products, and store and distribute resources using Alibaba Cloud’s product suite. Thus, Avalanche developers wishing to build validators may utilise the widely accessible plug-and-play infrastructure as a service (IaaS) offered by Alibaba Cloud to support their network.
Additionally, application developers may employ the platform’s infrastructure to enhance their products and keep up with peak demand.
“Alicloud’s infrastructure technology and intelligence tools enable wider access to compute, storage, and distribution resources for anybody to set up a node on Avalanche, further strengthening the network’s decentralization,” Avalanche tweeted.
In honour of the agreement, Alibaba Cloud will also grant Avalanche developers credits towards any of their services.
Alibaba Cloud, which debuted in 2009, operates in 28 areas and is the biggest cloud service provider in Asia-Pacific (APAC). It ranks third globally, behind Google Cloud and Amazon Web Services (AWS). As the Alibaba Group’s cloud computing branch and a commercial entity, the platform hosts approximately 2800 nodes.
It provides a vast array of cloud computing services to more than 2.3 million clients worldwide. These services include, among others, application services, databases, elastic computing, security, management, and large-scale computing.
Avalanche, on the other hand, is a layer 1 open and programmable smart contracts platform for decentralised applications that is renowned for its near-instant transaction speed, minimal gas prices, and dependable network.
Presently, the network hosts over a thousand projects, including prominent DeFi projects such as Aave, Curve, Sushi, and Chainlink. Additionally, Avalanche handles an average of two million transactions per day and has more than 1,190 validators devoted to network security.
Delloite, a market-leading auditing company, and the Lemonade Decentralized Anonymous Organization (DAO) are among the enterprise-focused companies using Avalanche.
