Miss Universe says she has no connection to the new currency initiative

The Miss Universe Organization has said that neither the Miss Universe nor the Miss Universe Philippines are associated with any kind of cryptocurrency or blockchain product.

Miss Universe Inc. said it has no connection to the Miss Universe Coin launched during the Philippine Blockchain Week (PBW) conference earlier this month. PBW has said that they have been in touch with all stakeholders and will provide an update as soon as possible.

Miss Universe Coin was shown at PBW earlier this month. PBW founder and manager Donald Lim said during the ceremony that the PBW would “launch the Miss Universe Coin.” Weeks after the launch, however, Miss Universe’s official organization distanced itself from the currency initiative, calling it a hoax.

The Miss Universe Organization and JKN Global Group, the corporation behind the competition, are not affiliated with the currency idea that was introduced during the PBW event, as stated on the official Miss Universe Facebook page on September 22. That’s what the group said: “all legal options with regards to this infringement.”

They wrote, “Right now, there is no Miss Universe cryptocurrency or blockchain offering, and these products have nothing to do with the voting or selection procedure for Miss Universe or the Miss Universe Philippines pageants.”

A spokesperson for the Miss Universe Organization told Cointelegraph that they believe the Miss Universe Coin to be a “fraud,” and that they anticipate its announcement at other events across the world. We have heard rumors that this topic would be discussed at the next blockchain conferences in Dubai and Singapore. They urged, “Do not cover, it is a scam if you see it there.

PBW has issued a statement on X (formerly Twitter) stating that they are in communication with all stakeholders and will provide an update as soon as feasible. Cointelegraph attempted to get in touch with Philippine Blockchain Week but did not hear back right away.
