A ‘Market Conditions’ Induced Pause in the Game Boy Crypto Wallet as the Team Transitions to Stablecoins
Because the team believes that there are better opportunities in the field of decentralized computing, they have decided to forego the process of turning a viral concept into real hardware.
Joseph Schiarizzi, the inventor of the Game Boy cryptocurrency wallet project, revealed to Decrypt on Wednesday that the project has been placed on hold after just around six months of development.
The cryptocurrency firm Keyp’s “Game Wallet” is no longer in the process of being actively developed. The “Game Wallet” was supposed to gamify the experience of using a cryptocurrency hardware wallet and provide customers the ability to store their Bitcoin and Ethereum on a genuine Game Boy. In a message sent to its fans, the firm said that it has shifted its focus to a new stablecoin project that has been given the name Open Dollar.
The Game Boy project is not being “shut down,” according to Schiarizzi, who responded to Decrypt’s inquiry about whether or not the firm has discontinued the project. Instead, the project is “indefinitely on hold.”
