The fund’s objective is to expedite the adoption of Aethir’s decentralized compute platform.
Aethir, a company that specializes in decentralized public infrastructure networks (DePINs), is introducing a $100 million Aethir Ecosystem Fund to support gaming ventures.
The Aethir Foundation will provide financial support to the artificial intelligence (AI) and gaming sectors, thereby supporting the fund.
The fund has the potential to expedite the adoption of Aethir’s decentralized compute platform through its grant programs, thereby enabling both entrepreneurs and established enterprises to scale their projects with simplicity.
Aethir has also announced the launch of Aethir Catalyst, a grant program within the ecosystem that will distribute 336,000,000 ATH tokens over the course of the next year. AI and gaming initiatives will receive an equal distribution of these tokens.
The Ethereum mainnet was the platform on which Aethir launched its cloud network in June. Defining the tangible hardware infrastructure of the network in a decentralised manner, DePINs are blockchain-based protocols.
Aethir’s cloud computing infrastructure platform enables data centres, other cloud providers, and crypto mining firms to contribute inactive graphics processing unit (GPU) resources to its network.
The Aethir Catalyst, a $20 million independent grant initiative, is the keystone of the Aethir Ecosystem Fund and is the focal point of the new fund launch project.
The financing will be allocated to more than 100 initiatives, providing financial assistance to companies that significantly rely on GPU compute through grants or subsidies.
Aethir stated that it is establishing itself as a critical infrastructure provider, enabling developers to concentrate on innovation without being constrained by inadequate access to compute power.
At a time when AI and gaming are becoming increasingly compute-intensive industries, the fund’s launch is pertinent. Aethir’s objective is to forge strategic partnerships that will propel the future of both industries by providing support to both early-stage businesses and large-scale enterprises.
In addition to the Catalyst program, Aethir’s Ecosystem Fund comprises two additional $10 million grant programs, established in collaboration with XAI and XPLA, to expedite the advancement of AI and gaming.
Mark Rydon, co-founder of Aethir, stated, “Aethir Catalyst is a substantial dedication to democratizing access to GPU compute for AI and gaming innovators.”
“We are reducing the barriers to compute power for all by allocating $20 million to this fund, which will ensure that the most prospective companies have the resources necessary to flourish.” says Rydon.
