The coin will be available for purchase in-store at certain U.S. boutiques.

To attract more crypto-friendly clients after the 2021 bull market, the design powerhouse located in Florence began taking cryptocurrencies in early May. In addition to Bitcoin and Ethereum, Gucci started to accept minor cryptocurrencies like Dogecoin and Shiba Inu.

Customers of Gucci can make payments via a QR code sent to them. One of the most recognisable brands in fashion bought $25,000 in the decentralised autonomous organisation (DAO) of the non-fungible token marketplace SuperRare last month.

Other prominent brands have also used digital fashion. Dolce & Gabbana debuted their own NFT collection in September of last year.

In August of last year, the German design label Philipp Plein, renowned for its flamboyant clothing, began taking bitcoin payments. The controversial designer of the brand, Philipp Plein, claimed in April that his firm would make around $16 million from crypto lovers this year.

ApeCoin, introduced in March, is the official cryptocurrency of the Bored Ape Yacht Club NFT ecosystem. Despite its initial success, the token has failed to garner continuous momentum. It is presently ranked 31st by market capitalization (below such also-rans as Bitcoin Cash and Monero).
