Mondelēz International has joined the Hedera Council, the stewardship group in charge of the Hedera open-source, leaderless proof-of-stake public network, further demonstrating its dedication to innovation and sustainability.

In an effort to transform its operations and consumer experiences, Mondelēz International, a worldwide food industry behemoth renowned for cherished brands like Oreo, Cadbury, and Toblerone, plans to use distributed ledger technology (DLT).

Being a member of the Hedera Council is a crucial milestone on Mondelēz International’s path to digital transformation. With a global presence and a staff of over 91,000 people, this organization is well-positioned to provide innovative solutions based on distributed ledger technology. Better supply chain management, more efficient company operations, and more satisfying client experiences are the end goals of these endeavors.

Mondelēz teaming up with SKUx, a new financial and payments platform, is an impressive effort that shows their dedication. Through the incorporation of a digital payment option that leverages Hedera’s technology, this cooperation intends to improve customer offer experiences. The first practical use of distributed ledger technology (DLT) in monitoring the supply chains of consumer packaged products will be possible thanks to this novel strategy, which also updates existing payment systems.

One of the most innovative decentralized networks, Hedera, is overseen by the Hedera Council, which includes more than 30 different organizations. Mondelēz International aims to spearhead the snack industry’s transition to the digital era by jumping on the DLT wagon. The company plans to use Web3 and DLT technology to improve consumer engagement, corporate efficiency, and sustainability.

Mondelēz International’s Xiang Xu, who is the Global COE Leader of Digital Strategy and Blockchain, was enthusiastic about the relationship and brought attention to the immense possibilities of DLT in solving problems faced by the retail business. In order to keep up with changing customer needs and industry standards, the firm has taken a proactive approach to implementing modern technology. This is seen in their initiative.

Bill Miller, who is also the co-chair of the Hedera Council’s Membership Committee, praised Mondelēz International for being a frontrunner in the global food industry. He saw the partnership as a catalyst for creating useful business solutions for the retail and consumer packaged goods industries, and he stressed how important it was to have such a major participant join the Hedera Council.
