The Solana Pay payment platform is now compatible with Shopify. “Solana Pay on Shopify gives millions of traders a more adaptable and effective payment option,” Solana Foundation Head of Commerce Business Development Josh Fried stated in a statement. Customers get the comfort and added value of becoming able to make purchases for things and services with digital dollar currencies from the huge network of merchants using Shopify.”
Solana Pay was introduced by Solana Labs in February 2022 so that businesses may begin accepting cryptocurrency payments from consumers. With Solana Pay, buyers and sellers may avoid bank fees, chargebacks, and holding periods while transacting with USD stablecoins that are compatible with Solana.
According to the platform’s website, Shopify has enabled over $444 billion in commercial activity and is accessible in 170 countries. The company has also made additional inroads into Web3, such as enabling retailers to provide NFTs for sale to consumers and implementing NFT-based loyalty benefits.
