DogeDesigner, a Dogecoin Foundation UX/UI expert and graphic designer, says that the WooCommerce plugin “Easy Dogecoin Gateway” developed by Dogecoin developer “inevitable360” now allows millions of WordPress websites to take Dogecoin.
Dogecoin payments may now be accepted on WordPress sites without the need for third-party payment processors, banks, or any other costs thanks to the plugin. Also, the plugin leverages the Google API to produce QR codes and the CoinGecko API to convert fiat currency into Dogecoin.
As of 2021, WordPress is utilised by more than 455 million websites, and that number is expected to keep rising.
Adoption of Dogecoin and its applications
Dogecoin use cases have been the subject of numerous recent talks. There are several reasons why the Dogecoin Foundation wants to make Dogecoin the world’s primary currency for the purchase of goods and services.
Big3 basketball club Aliens bought a majority share in the Aliens via DOGE, as previously reported. By purchasing non-fungible tokens (NFTs) only in Dogecoin, Bill Lee, inventor of the Dogecoin wallet MyDoge, offered a controlling share in the Big 3 group. MyDoge/Dogecoin branding will feature on Aliens squad shirts and on Big3 events and broadcasts as part of the agreement.
If more companies started accepting Dogecoin, Elon Musk, the CEO of Tesla, believes it would become more useful. Using Dogecoin to tip artists was also praised by the billionaire, who said it would be “wonderful” to do so. Despite the potential for application cases in the Web3 industry, Musk argues that a bridge between Ethereum and Bitcoin is unneeded.
Shibetoshi Nakamoto, the founder of Dogecoin, argues that the simplest and greatest use case for Dogecoin is to utilise it as a kind of gratuity.
Dogecoin is now trading at $0.127, just little higher than it was 24 hours ago.. In a massive selloff on May 5, Dogecoin went down with the rest of the market. Per CoinMarketCap, Dogecoin is currently the 12th most valuable cryptocurrency in terms of market capitalization.
