Zscaler Enhances Leadership Team with Critical Data and AI Knowledge

Renowned cloud security provider Zscaler has promoted Claudionor Coelho Jr. to the position of Chief AI Officer and Mohamed Shabar to the position of EVP, Data & AI Platforms.

The cloud security leader Zscaler, Inc. has strengthened its leadership team with the addition of two seasoned professionals. The position of Chief AI Officer is being filled by Claudionor Coelho Jr., while Mohamed Shabar is being replaced as EVP of Data & AI Platforms. This move further demonstrates Zscaler’s commitment to being at the forefront of technical breakthroughs, especially in the fields of Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Machine Learning (ML).

Claudionor Coelho Jr. has extensive background in artificial intelligence and machine learning, which he contributes to his role as chief AI officer. During his time as Chief AI Officer and SVP of Engineering at Advantest, he oversaw the creation of a private cloud solution for semiconductor production that was specifically designed to prevent unauthorized access. With his extensive knowledge of state-of-the-art ML, Deep Learning, and Generative AI approaches, Coelho is anticipated to have a substantial impact on Zscaler’s zero-trust security efforts.

With more than 25 years of expertise in the IT industry, Mohamed Shabar joins Zscaler as the newly appointed EVP, Data & AI Platforms. His stellar resume includes a game-changing position at Salesforce in the areas of automation, artificial intelligence, and cloud platform development. During his time here, the platform’s scalability and throughput increased tenfold, and client retention rates skyrocketed. In order to make organizations more resistant to ever-changing security threats, Shabar wants Zscaler to use data, automation, and artificial intelligence.
