The Russian embassy in Paris reported that crypto billionaire Vyacheslav Taran, 53, creator of Forex Club and Libertex, died in a suspicious helicopter accident. The site of the deceased was determined to be Villefranche-sur-Mer, a distant vacation town on the French Riviera.
Taran was reportedly headquartered out of Monaco and had ties to Moscow’s foreign intelligence. He was travelling from Lausanne, Switzerland, in a Monacair H130 helicopter piloted by an experienced pilot.
According to reports, the 30-year-old pilot was also killed in the collision. The reason for the accident has not yet been identified. On November 25th, the helicopter crashed.
The statement released by Libertex was as follows: Vyacheslav Taran, co-founder and chairman of the board of Libertex Group, passed away in a helicopter accident while routeing to Monaco on Friday, 25 November 2022. The news is announced with deep regret by Libertex Group. The Board of Directors and staff of Libertex Group send their deepest sympathies and compassion to the Taran family.
Vyacheslav Taran is the third prominent crypto-businessman to pass away under dubious circumstances. According to reports, the aircraft reportedly crashed in clear weather, which makes the death of the Russian billionaire unusual.
Taran was meant to fly with an anonymous guest on the VIP helicopter, but he opted against it at the last minute. Taran was an accomplished and well-respected offshore expert from Vladivostok. He is survived by his three children and his Russian wife, Olga (creator of Hello Monaco Media).
As Taran’s death occurred in France, the deputy public prosecutor of Nice is in charge of the investigation. He has not ruled out the possibility of third-party participation and will be unable to make a conclusive determination without seeing the accident scene.
The death of Vyacheslav Taran is not the only one linked to the cryptocurrency sector. In recent weeks, two additional crypto heavyweights have passed away. Tiantian Kullander, 30 years old, passed away “in his sleep” last Thursday. Nikolai Mushegian, a 29-year-old billionaire, drowned on a Puerto Rico beach.
Tiantian Kullander was a co-founder of the Hong Kong-based digital asset business Amber Group. His death occurred on November 23.
Nikolai Mushegian’s death, which occurred just a few hours after his post, also sparked concerns. The tweet said that he was aware that the CIA and Mossad, the national intelligence services of the United States and Israel, were preparing to assassinate him.
