Introduced publicly on April 21st, this strategic initiative involves substituting Ethereum’s existing Virtual Machine (EVM) bytecode standard with the open-source RISC-V instruction set architecture.
The objective behind this potential change is a substantial enhancement in overall network efficiency.

According to developer projections, this architectural modification could accelerate the execution of zero-knowledge proofs by as much as two orders of magnitude (100 times).
