As the cryptocurrency market awaits the deployment of the Cardano (ADA) Vasil hard fork, which is currently slated to occur by the end of July, the ecosystem’s developer, Input-Output, is completing the last preparations.
In fact, the team has filed a new request to hard fork the Cardano testnet, begun the countdown for the Vasil mainnet upgrade, and obtained “good chain density to proceed safely,” according to a series of tweets released on June 28 by Input-Output.
Specifically, the researchers said that the chain density was achieved as a result of the new Vasil node creating more than 75% of testnet blocks (1.35.0).
In addition, the development company extended its appreciation to the whole Cardano community and all Cardano stake pool operators (SPOs) “for their sustained support of the test net and synchronised efforts to prepare the network for the Vasil HFC event.”
According to the Cardano feed, the Hard Fork Combinator (HFC) “is part of a series of improvements and network optimizations anticipated throughout the current development period.” The report says that it is “one of eleven proposed scaling ideas to be implemented in 2022.”
Additionally, the Twitter thread emphasised the following: “Once the modifications have taken effect with the beginning of epoch 215 at 20:20 UTC on 3 July, the Cardano test net will begin to experience the new Vasil upgrades and capabilities that will shortly be implemented on the mainnet.”
Input-Output also informed its followers that the Vasil enhancements provide “greater throughput via diffusion pipelining to a better developer experience through considerably improved script performance & efficiency (plus cheaper costs)” and that “it is Cardano’s largest and most significant update.”
The tweets also mirrored the sentiments of Cardano creator Charles Hoskinson, which Finbold reported on a week earlier.
“It is also the most difficult work program we’ve ever done. Moreover, the whole community is participating. As stated earlier, our top priority is to handle this update in a safe and secure manner.”
