Crypto Figure BitBoy Imprisoned Following Judge Email Incident

Ben Armstrong, widely recognized as “BitBoy” in cryptocurrency circles, has been taken into custody in Florida.

The arrest stems from allegations that he sent harassing electronic messages to Judge Kimberly Childs.

Armstrong himself disclosed via social media that these emails were the reason an arrest warrant was issued against him.

Currently, he is being held without the possibility of release on bond, meaning he will remain in custody until his trial, with no option for bail.

Crypto Community Speculation and Real Reason

The arrest quickly garnered significant attention within the cryptocurrency community.

Initial reactions involved widespread speculation, with many suggesting possible reasons ranging from public disorder to his prior engagements with controversial cryptocurrency ventures. However, these early theories are not supported by evidence.

The actual cause seems to be rooted in his direct communications with Judge Childs regarding an ongoing legal dispute.

Self-Representation and “Dishonorable” Label

Five days before his apprehension, Armstrong had publicly acknowledged online that the warrant was a direct result of emails he had sent to Judge Childs.

He was acting as his legal representative in the matter.

Further emphasizing the sensitivity of the situation, Judge Childs has since removed her Twitter presence. BitBoy publicly criticized her as “dishonorable.”

Depending on their specific content, his communications could be interpreted as menacing or inappropriate, potentially leading to charges of criminal harassment.

Pattern of Legal Issues and Self-Representation

Armstrong has a known history of participating in legal battles without securing professional legal counsel.

In this instance, his choice to represent himself and communicate directly with a judge may have intensified the legal repercussions.

This is not his first encounter with the legal system. In the previous year, accusations of harassing a lawyer connected to a different case were made against him, though this did not result in an arrest at that time.

Public Criticism and Erratic Online Conduct

His conduct has faced considerable censure from both legal professionals and the online public.

Recent online activity has revealed instances of erratic and agitated online posts, notably including the targeting of a young actor who shares his given name.

This recurring pattern of unpredictable public actions has generated concern even among his erstwhile supporters.
