The mainnet has implemented EigenLayer Rewards v2, which has resulted in enhancements to the ecosystem’s rewards in terms of efficiency, customization, and flexibility.

EigenLayer Rewards v2 will prioritize customization, efficiency, and adaptability within the ecosystem. It would be the initial mainnet enhancement that the Eigen community has proposed and implemented.

In order to enhance the reward system for participants, EigenLayer Rewards v2 incorporates a number of major features. Operator-specific rewards are one of the most notable upgrades, which enable Automatic Verification Services (AVS) to compensate operators based on performance or custom logic.

Operators are now able to establish variable fees for each AVS, which provides them with increased economic flexibility. The bulk reward collection is another noteworthy feature that allows stakeholders and operators to claim multiple rewards in a single transaction, thereby reducing petroleum fees.

By allowing users to stake ETH and utilize tokens staked on the consensus layer, EigenLayer is a pioneer in the Ethereum re-staking landscape. EigenLayer’s smart contracts may be subject to additional conditions by participants who stake their ETH.

The EigenLayer Rewards v2 update is also consistent with the EigenGov governance process, which was recently announced by the Eigen Foundation. This update enables the platform’s development to be more community-driven.
