The twenty-fourth annual AIRIS conference on artificial intelligence (AI) in the regulation of medical products will be held in Seoul and the United States in collaboration with other countries.

The Ministry of Food and Drug Safety (MFDS) has made a significant advancement towards the availability of medical AI products on a global scale. The AIRIS 2024 Preparatory Planning Team has been established by MFDS in conjunction with the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) in order to coordinate the “AI Regulatory and International Symposium 2024 (AIRIS 2024).” The conference, which the United States and South Korea are co-hosting, will bring together medical product regulators from all over the world in Seoul from February 26 to February 29, 2024.

Kim Yoo-mi, the vice minister for food and drug safety, is in charge of the planning team. South Korean President Yoon Suk Yeol visited the United States last year to create the Korea-U.S. Alliance for Advanced Science and Technology, which led to the establishment of AIRIS 2024. Ever since then, MFDS has been pushing for the symposium to highlight its dedication to developing AI-based healthcare technologies.

South Korea’s regulatory expertise in the field of artificial intelligence (AI) in healthcare has brought it widespread renown. Thanks to this recognition, Korea will take the lead in developing international regulations in this area. At AIRIS 2024, medical product regulators from the United States and Korea will host their international colleagues, setting the stage for a historic meeting.

Attendees from academia, regulatory agencies, and business will be able to debate a range of topics related to artificial intelligence (AI) medical products at the AIRIS 2024 Symposium. From current trends in the development of AI-driven medical products to future possibilities and worldwide regulatory policies, this conference will cover it all.

Promoting Korea’s outstanding regulatory skills internationally is a top priority for the AIRIS 2024 Preparatory Planning Team. Their duties include organizing and carrying out the event schedule, sending out invites to local and foreign attendees, and managing public relations initiatives on a global scale.
