The red-hot Telegram game has experienced a 50% increase in value in the past week, surpassing the TON token. Toncoin also achieved an all-time peak.
The crypto gaming phenomenon Hamster Kombat, which is based on Telegram, announced on Friday that it has surpassed the population of Russia with a participant base of more than 150 million.
There has been a 50% increase in growth since the game’s developers announced that they had surpassed the 100 million user mark last week. To provide context, this would imply that nearly one-fifth of Telegram users have registered for the game, which encourages participants to expand a fictitious crypto exchange owned by a hamster by offering genuine cryptocurrency rewards.
The game, which is a mini-app within the popular messaging app Telegram, will provide token airdrops to players who have accumulated points. This airdrop will not necessitate any additional installations. A member of the Hamster Kombat crew suggested last week that the airdrop is presently scheduled for July.
It is indisputable that the game is garnering an immense quantity of attention within Telegram. Hamster Kombat’s announcements channel in Telegram is the app’s most popular channel, with over 35 million subscribers.
At present, the game’s YouTube channel has approximately 23 million subscribers, and its Twitter account has 7.7 million followers. Even within the past week, the following for each account has expanded significantly.
Notcoin, an additional crypto-backed in-app Telegram game, has been a significant factor in the success of Hamster Kombat. Notcoin attracted a devoted following by offering a lucrative token airdrop to participants.
Last week, the Notcoin token, NOT, surpassed a $2 billion market capitalization, following the successful commencement of its airdrop on May 16. CoinGecko currently ranks NOT as one of the top 60 cryptocurrencies by market capitalization.
Hamster Kombat’s popularity appears to have also benefited Toncoin, the native token of The Open Network (TON), Telegram’s preferred blockchain. On Friday, the token reached an all-time peak price of $8.13. It has increased by more than 26% in the past two weeks.
