A two-thirds majority of members of the European Parliament cast their ballots in favour of terminating the term of office of crypto-friendly Vice President Eva Kaili.

625 people voted in favour of terminating Kaili’s employment, while just one person voted against it and two people abstained. After the Conference of Presidents initiated the process, today the move was unanimously authorised by all of the participants.

The termination of Kaili is a direct outcome of the current investigations that include several members and personnel of the European Parliament.

A declaration accepted by the Conference of Presidents states, “The Conference of Presidents is horrified and very concerned by the recent disclosures on corruption and illegal influence in the decision-making processes in the European Parliament, and everyone implicated must be held responsible.”

The study on NFTs that Kaili was leading the charge on was scheduled to be released in the coming weeks.
