With the establishment of the official YouTube account for the forthcoming layer two protocol Shibarium, the Shiba Inu (SHIB) community is buzzing with anticipation.

Key member of the network’s marketing team “LUCIE” took to Twitter earlier this week to promote the new channel, writing, “We are cooking something.” Since Monday’s announcement, the channel’s subscriber count has skyrocketed from the low hundreds to around 2,500 as of this writing.

These five short movies cover topics like “Shibarium Basic Information” and “Shibarium Technology L2 with $BONE as gas fee token” Even additional information about how Shibarium works is provided in a fourth video. While details regarding the channel are still few, users are excited by the prospect of learning more about the next Shibarium release.

This mysterious declaration is consistent with assurances given by Shytoshi Kusama, the game’s chief creator when he announced the Summer of Shibarium and promised upcoming strategic releases and improvements. These efforts are preparing the ground for the mainnet debut of Shibarium, which is set for the forthcoming Blockchain Futurist Conference in August.

Notably, the community’s hope has been bolstered by Lucie’s earlier promise that many projects would join the Shiba Inu ecosystem after the L2 scaling solution is included in the mainnet. It is anticipated that these changes will allow the project’s ecosystem to grow to include other tokens beyond SHIB, BONE, and LEASH.

Despite the optimistic outlook and promising outlook, SHIB’s stock has not seen a major increase recently. The second biggest meme currency by market value has been consolidating its price after shattering critical support at $0.000008 earlier this month. SHIB was trading at $0.000007801 at press time, an increase of 1.06% in the last 24 hours and 1.48% in the last week.

Experts in the area are hopeful about the possible influence of Shibarium’s mainnet debut on SHIB and other ecosystem tokens like BONE and LEASH, despite the current market circumstances. SHIB’s popularity is on the rise, particularly among new users, as seen by a sharp increase from 25% in mid-April to well over 60% this week, as measured by a newly introduced statistic from on-chain data research business IntoTheBlock.
