With Robert F. Kennedy Jr. making his first public appearance as a US presidential contender at a cryptocurrency conference in Miami, cryptocurrency is once again in the limelight.

The controversial Democrat has demonstrated support for an industry that many environmentalists and climate change campaigners blame for contributing significantly to the crisis.

At the “biggest Bitcoin event in the world,” skeptics aired worries about the cryptocurrency industry’s impact on global warming even before speakers took the stage.

Despite these worries, Kennedy has been a loud proponent of the sector, and his presence at the event is vital since it allows him to talk to a significant proportion of the voting people.

By agreeing to speak at the Bitcoin 2023 conference, Kennedy may meet and greet a large number of his fans and perhaps win over some new voters.

Even if many Democrats don’t agree with him on cryptocurrencies, he still has a chance of winning over the millions of voters who are loyal to his party.

Conference organizer BTC Media’s head of staff Brandon Green made the following statement: “After hearing his optimistic remarks about the Bitcoin market, we invited him to speak.”

Important political figures, including Republican presidential candidate Vivek Ramaswamy, Wyoming Senator Cynthia Lummis, Florida Representative Byron Donalds, former Hawaii Representative Tulsi Gabbard, and the governor of the Indonesian province of West Java, will be in attendance at the conference, and Kennedy’s presence is essential.

In addition, Kennedy’s campaign manager Stefanie Spear said that the 2024 presidential hopeful will refuse to take paid speaking engagements.

Kennedy claims that the bitcoin industry is “a major innovation engine” that might be used to counter authoritarian regimes.

He also supported Bitcoin on the basis that it allows users to conduct financial transactions independently of government oversight.

Ecologists, on the other hand, disagree with him since they believe Bitcoin is a huge contribution to the problem of global warming. Numerous environmental organizations have raised their concern about the crypto industry’s high energy use.
