Through a new partnership with eToro, Twitter will enable users to observe market charts and purchase and sell equities and cryptocurrencies.

According to a CNBC article, Twitter will enable users to trade equities, cryptocurrencies, and other assets via the social trading application eToro. The partnership is part of Elon Musk’s plan to transform the Bird app into a “super app.”

Twitter already has a feature that enables users to observe a company’s market data via cashtags. A user must seek the symbol of a stock and precede it with a dollar sign. For instance, $TSLA Users can now select the “View on eToro” icon to trade a specific financial instrument thanks to the new partnership.

eToro’s Chief Executive Officer (CEO), Yoni Assia, states, “As we’ve grown tremendously over the past three years, we’ve seen an increasing number of our consumers interact on Twitter and educate themselves on the markets. There is very high-quality, real-time content on company financial analysis and global events. We believe this partnership will allow us to reach new audiences and better integrate the Twitter and eToro brands.”

After acquiring Twitter last year, Musk envisioned transforming it into an all-encompassing superapp. He has advocated offering services like decentralized social media, micropayments, gaming, food delivery, ride-sharing, and purchasing via a single app.

According to a 4 April filing, Twitter has combined with X Corp, a fictional corporation. The document states, “Twitter, Inc. has been merged into X Corp. and no longer exists.”

Reportedly, Musk is spending tens of millions of dollars to develop an artificial intelligence (AI) initiative for Twitter.
