Andre Cronje, a fundamental developer for Fantom, has spoken out about the present network issues in Solana, something that many predicted some time ago.
After Solana’s recent setbacks, Andre Cronje took to his official X account to point out that many people have repeated the “I told you so” line.
A lot of people have noticed how unreliable Solana has been over the last several months due to its frequent outages and the incredible growth of the ecosystem. Cronje claims that Solana is now requesting a massive blockspace, which spells out the need to address several bottlenecks.
Since he admitted that Consensus is not a problem with Solana, he concluded that this bottleneck must have its origins in engineering. The leading DeFi developer also noted that Solana’s problems are not caused by any essential part.
An alternative to the then-popular and often congested Ethereum, Solana is a blockchain system that aimed to provide a more sophisticated smart contract network. Solana has shown promise since its launch, but according to Andre Cronje, the blockchain is suffering as a result.
There is a continual cycle of improvement in blockchain networks. With the Merge, Ethereum led the charge to switch from a proof-of-work (PoW) to a proof-of-stake (PoS) consensus architecture. Top developers, including co-founder Anatoly Yakovenko, are now working diligently to discover a lasting solution to Solana’s congestion concerns, which have become a significant threat.
Some improvements for Solana could be more difficult to implement than others, as Yakovenko pointed out in a previous remark. His point was that slowing down the network is not an option until it has gone through the whole launch and testing process, as he mentioned in his reply.
Price data from CoinMarketCap shows that Solana is still one of the most capitalized blockchains, with a 3.55% increase to $178.05 in the last 24 hours, notwithstanding this decline.
