BlackRock has appointed MoonPay’s top legal officer to its Bitcoin exchange-traded fund (ETF) board.
BlackRock has announced that MoonPay’s Lindsey Haswell will be joining the board of directors of its prominent $IBIT spot Bitcoin ETF, signalling a leadership shakeup at the investment firm.
When excluded, Grayscale’s GBTC ranks second in terms of asset size, and this ETF is among the most frequently traded.
In addition to her work at MoonPay, Haswell is well-known in the cryptocurrency community for her contributions to the Core Dao and her position as a founding member of the Core blockchain.
A major shift in leadership at BlackRock $IBIT is underway as the firm adjusts to the ever-changing cryptocurrency industry; Haswell will take over for Kimun Lee as board member of the $IBIT beginning November 6, 2024.
She brings valuable expertise from her time at Blockchain.com to BlackRock, which strengthens her credentials.
Leading its category and confirming BlackRock’s strategy objective to grow its impact in the crypto industry, the $IBIT ETF, under BlackRock, has lately showed large trading volumes.
