The German branch of the telecom business has decided to conduct its first NFT collection on the Cardano blockchain.

On June 28th, major telecom giant Vodafone Germany revealed intentions to release non-fungible tokens based on the Cardano blockchain.

A corporate representative said on the firm’s official Discord server: “We want to use the Cardano blockchain to launch our NFT collection this year.”

The spokesman said Vodafone Germany’s decision to adopt the Cardano (ADA) blockchain’s “community, sustainability, and cross-chain possibilities” of the Cardano (ADA) blockchain were decisive factors.

A spokesman for Vodafone said that the company is currently brainstorming ideas. He claimed the tokens’ usefulness and advantages have yet to be determined by the corporation, but the first 1,000 members of the Discord group would get prizes.

He also implied that the initiative is now only open to Vodafone Germany employees; however, he did mention that the business is looking into expanding participation to the worldwide population.

Insinuating that any tokens purporting to be associated with the project are fake, the spokesman urged the public not to click on any airdrop links.

Vodafone’s Twitter account had previously connected to its Discord server on June 27th, fueling rumours about the company’s intentions before the announcement.

The telecom giant Vodafone ranks eighth in the global market. According to the company’s annual report, sales were $52.2 billion.

In this sense, the initiative serves as an example of successful adoption and as an opening for those working in the cryptocurrency sector. On June 28th, NMKR’s CEO and founder, Patrick Tobler, weighed in on the news. He told CryptoSlate that his business would be minting Vodafone’s NFTs.

CryptoSlate has also contacted IOHK, Cardano’s official development firm, to inquire about the company’s participation. As of this writing, IOHK has yet to respond.
