The NHL, NHLPA, and NHLAA have formally selected Sweet as the Official NFT Digital Collectibles Marketplace and Official NFT Partner, per their announcement.

Due to this multi-year partnership, the NHL will be able to develop a variety of NFT-specific initiatives. And by doing so, they might provide fresh opportunities for passionate fans or collectors to expand their collections.

The NHL asserts that customers will be able to purchase, sell, acquire, and exchange never-before-offered items from the league’s history. The NHL marketplace run by Sweet will provide a unique and gratifying engagement experience for the whole NHL network.

In-game gamification, he noted, offers a really intriguing and unique relationship between objects and experiences. As a consequence, they have chosen some “aesthetically outstanding” instances of intense action.

When the 2022–2023 season starts, however, the NHL’s Sweet marketplace is expected to debut in October.

According to a statement from the NHL: In the form of non-fungible tokens, Sweet’s stand-alone NHL platform for this initiative will feature current and historic events as well as classic game aspects.

In addition, a player’s performance will influence certain of the NFTs, which will also be dynamic and evolve over time. It may also include NFT packets that can be seen in 3D interactive trophy rooms or cinematic game footage from previous NHL seasons.

This will be the first category-exclusive arrangement of its sort. According to the statement, the NHL, NHLPA, and NHLAA have joined together for the first time ever to deliver NFTs in the form of contemporary and older video clips and artifacts from all throughout the League, featuring great players and NHL legends from the past.

Glenn Healy, executive director of the NHL Alumni Association, was ecstatic with the NHL, NHLPA, and Sweet’s partnership to provide the following digital hockey things to fans:
