Twitter Account of UniSwap’s Founder Compromised

UniSwap’s original creator, Hayden Adams, had his Twitter account compromised and a fraudulent link posted in his name.

Fraudsters broke into the Twitter account of Hayden Adams, the man behind the decentralized cryptocurrency market Uniswap (UNI). Hackers pretended to be Adams by using his verified account to send UNI tokens to unsuspecting users.

The bogus tweet said that in honour of the platform’s debut, UniswapX will be giving away UNI tokens for the following day. Users were assured of greater access to funds, lower pricing, MEV protection, and gas-free swaps.

To see whether they were available, users were directed to a URL in the tweet. If you follow the link, you’ll be sent to a bogus website that seems very similar to UniswapX but is really a scam.

In addition to sharing the news that he had compromised Adams, the hacker also replied to the tweet sent by the official UniSwap Twitter account. The hacker then tweeted from Adams’ account, claiming that the tokens of all UniSwap users were at risk as a result of the hacking incident and again providing a bogus link.
