Starting with the SAGE Labs online game, ATMTA provides free access to its Star Atlas tools for Solana developers and producers.

With the launch of the new Star Atlas browser game from SAGE Labs, ATMTA is releasing its developer tools and documentation on the Solana blockchain to provide other game developers access to its environment and economy.

Star Atlas has made its graphics, audiovisual materials, Unreal Engine tools, APIs, and mainnet program IDs and addresses freely available to developers via a building center where connections and documentation can be obtained.

A new player profile allows for individualized gameplay, the ATLAS token can be used in place of Solana’s native SOL currency, token ownership and permissions can be managed, third-party developers can use a faction recruitment tool, and functions govern the transfer of in-game tokens like ships.

Star Atlas is an RPG set in space that was developed on the Solana platform. In September of 2022, ATMTA released a demo called a “showroom” on the Epic Games Store. The Star Atlas Golden Era (SAGE) Labs web game is a part of the wider Star Atlas canon.

The purpose of making the Star Atlas data public is to create a more robust ecosystem of applications related to the game, as well as to increase transparency and confidence among players and stakeholders, according to ATMTA.

It’s what makes Star Atlas more than simply a collection of games, says Star Atlas CEO Michael Wagner in an exclusive conversation with Decrypt’s GG. Those [Star Atlas] assets may be used for commercial purposes, as well.
